What is energy healing?
What is the meaning of healing energy?
Energy healing encompasses a wide range of practices that can help us channel energy to counteract different ailments of the body, both physical and mental. This philosophy comes in a variety of different forms often thrown under the umbrella term “new age”.
All the various practices contain slight differences its up to you to decide which is best suited to your needs. When combined with other holistic treatments, you can achieve balance in the mind body and spirit. Energy healing is a positive practice for those who are not currently suffering from any ailments but would like to maintain quality of existence.
What’s the difference between spiritual healing and energy healing?
Nothing really, Spiritual healing encompasses a wide array of energy healing and transfer practices. The process is often applied to and mixed with a variety of belief systems. In Brazil, many Catholics visit spirit healing centers for healing. This is largely due to the influence of Chico Xavier and Alan Kardec. These teachings tend to lean Christian and incorporate the New Testament, however the practice of spiritual healing itself can be extracted from any religion.
How is energy healing done?
Energy healing usually involves meeting with a spiritual healer. This person will transfer energy to you, usually through the hands but without physical touch. This energy is meant to target any illnesses of the body and mind.
What is reiki?
Reiki is an energy healing Practice, with cultural roots in Japan. Reiki philosophy centers on the existence of a universal life force (called “ki” Pronounced “Key”) that is contained within living beings. The KI levels we carry will increase and decrease in response to life events. Low levels of energy can cause stress, illnesses, and other maladies.
Reiki healing is a transfer of energy through the palms of a reiki practitioner (without physical contact). This is done to restore said energy and improve quality of life. These treatments can only be performed by someone who has gone through attunement and training. Reiki healers will often incorporate the use of sacred symbols specific to the practice, differentiating it from other energy healing practices.
Do crystals have healing energy?
Crystals are also often incorporated by healers in these practices, even the bible references the energy of crystals.
What is Qigong?
Qigong gets its roots in Chinese philosophy, martial arts, medicinal practices, and other cultural beliefs. Much like reiki, it is built around the idea of the universal life force (called “qi” in Chinese Pronounced chi).
However, unlike reiki the practice of qigong mostly consists of self-healing. One method of doing so consists of choreographed movements that bear resemblance to tai chi. The holding of postures and other meditation techniques are also beneficial to qi cultivation.
Qigong also includes the use of traditional Chinese herbs to target specific illnesses. Qigong practices are more individual than reiki or other spiritual healings. This can be an excellent choice for someone looking to explore energy healing on their own time, or even skeptics who want to try it for themselves.
Chakra healing is a Tantric practice with roots in Hinduism and Buddhism. The most common form of chakra philosophy is of the 7 chakras. Humans have seven distinct energy centers, “chakras”, with each being connected to a specific realm of health and emotion.
An unbalanced, or closed, chakra will correlate to negative impacts in the area of that respective chakra. An open chakra will promote positive health and wellbeing.
Where are my chakras?
At the base of your spine is the root chakra, having connections to security and stability. The sacral chakra is in the lower belly and relates to emotional, creative, and sexual expression. Further up in the stomach area is the solar plexus chakra, affecting confidence. The heart chakra lies in the chest and impacts our sense of compassion and ability to love. The throat chakra affects communication and honesty. The space between your eyes houses the third eye chakra, which has a strong influence on your intuition and ability to trust it. Finally, at the top of your head is the crown chakra, which connects us to the spiritual energy of the universe.
Chakra healing focuses on opening one chakra at a time in order to have positive effects on whichever area of life we need to heal. Chakra practices also use crystals as specific crystals resonate with each chakra, making them a great tool. You can find a spiritual healer to help guide you through this process, or you can do it yourself at home.
All spiritual and energy healings carry very similar ideologies at their core. There is no right or wrong way to explore it, by understanding the subtleties and nuances behind each practice, you can find the best way to incorporate energy healing into your routine.
